“Few subjects have the power to arouse such strong feelings and opinions as astrology. In this section, we have tried to provide answers to some key questions most people face when they try to understand this branch of knowledge. Please note the following are meant for general understanding only.

Q: I think weekly or daily horoscope columns in newspapers are rubbish. Therefore I don’t believe in astrology.

A: These are two different statements. Real astrology is very different from what you read in newspaper columns. Just as you don’t lose interest in reading only because you picked up a bad book, your faith or belief in astrology should not depend on extremely generalized features in publications. Astrology is all about focusing on one subject and as such should not be confused with Zodiac sign based forecasts.

A: It is hard to define but in my understanding astrology, if used well, is a valuable tool that empowers us to get the most out of different phases of life. We all seek to fulfill our destiny in the best manner possible and real astrology helps us prepare for what lies ahead, without changing it.

A: Paracelsus, one of the world's greatest astrologers, remarked "The stars incline; they do not compel". He meant that while planetary influences create the groundwork and basis for action in any set of circumstances, there is still the element of free will in us all. So, contrary to popular belief, astrology isn’t all about predicting the future. It is a study of planetary influences on an individual’s life and must be performed with great care and understanding. Through judicious use of astrology, one can gain insights into one's personality, and see areas of life where there is harmony or discord. It allows you channelise your energies at the right time in the right manner to fulfill your destiny. Destiny and astrology are not in conflict with each other, but need careful explanation to avoid confusion.

A: Astrologers, like all good scientists, must use their knowledge in combination with a developed intuition. We can use the techniques and insights of astrology to make sense of our connection with each other, with the universe at large, and with our own inner selves.

Apart from knowledge, it is the individual’s ability to interpret and analyze his findings that makes the vital difference. Real astrology is a complex mix of study, calculations and insight – compromise in any of these can lead to unsatisfactory results.

A: It is, but different astrologers use different approaches. It is simply a matter of how much in tune you are with your knowledge and insights. In my case, ‘Swara Shastra’ – the science of breathing – plays an integral role and enables me to achieve a heightened state of consciousness that helps me connect with you at a different level.

A: One day I may be able to answer this.
